[It's well after midnight when Kenzi finally calls, when she finally remembers that it had been Kang's birthday. Okay, it's actually probably about four in the morning. By now she's sufficiently sloshed and she certainly sounds it.]
Hi, Kang. It's Kenzi. Of course, it's Kenzi. Who else would call you at a ridic...dick, hah. Crazy hour like this?
No one. Just me.
I...
Why did I call...?
Oooooh right!
Happy bir-- hatchday, Kang. I know it's a little late but I will totes have booze for you later.
Y'know, when I'm not all hungover anymore.
Oh, and I guess I'm back. Because that's a thing, me poofing out and then coming back. Yeah...
Ah...I heard the jail exploded...some time ago. I wasn't aware of it and...I didn't know who to ask. But I thought maybe you might know if Mr. Kimblee is still in jail? Or under someone's control? Solf Kimblee. He's...he's hunted Ed before and I...he...he's...dangerous.
Good afternoon, Mr. Kang. My name is Claire Dearing. We met in the Exhibition Center in De Chima. [ before all hell broke loose. claire breezes past the memory. ]
I have a proposal I would like to share with you if you could spare me five minutes of your time.
I invite you to vote in this upcoming election on June 27th. Every voice should have the chance to be heard, no matter how small. I hope you enjoy my gift in the meantime.
Hey. So. You want to tag along Sunday, afternoonish, for a Kaiju transformation test run? Assuming I don't turn into some city-destroying monster, it could be an interesting experience.
Oh, and uh. Thanks, by the way. Hermann didn't leave me. Yet. I mean, we've discussed it and. Thanks.
[ Within a few days of Kang's return, an envelope with a sizable monetary donation arrives for SELF to allocate as they feel is necessary. There is an unsigned but handwritten note included, which reads:
Your initiative is appreciated, even by those who do not require it. ]
[ Perhaps it's a bit old-fashioned, but the message arrives for Kang via mockingbird. Sealed closed by a wax mockingbird sigil, the letter is hand-written in careful cursive. ]
Dear, Governor -
It's been quite some time since we have spoken, but I am glad to see you back within the porter cities. I write to you on behalf of a project I am working on within my city. Construction has already begun on rebuilding a much larger library, but I wish for this to be more than simply a bigger structure. I hope to inspire education and the spread of knowledge to the natives of Maurtia Falls as well as provide an invaluable resource to new arrivals here. But more than that, I wish to use it to pay homage to the natives who lost their lives within Maurtia Falls due to imPort related tragedies. Their names will be honored within the library itself and donations will be set up to be made to the families.
For this project to succeed, I need your help. If you are able to donate anything at all to the cause, it would be most appreciated -- whether that is books, money, or simply your time. I plan to put programs into place once the library is finished to have imPorts come in and read to the much younger generation. I believe it would be a great way to strengthen the native and imPort bond. And I do imagine you to have an excellent tolerance for children.
I thank you for your time, and I do hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely, Ambassador Petyr Baelish
P.S.: I had hoped to find time to sit down with you and discuss SELF a bit, if you do not mind meeting with me.
[ OOC: You can feel free to just respond to this OOCly if he would donate anything or not! ]
[Oh, but Kang does appreciate a handwritten letter. This is how he conducts business at home. Baelish will receive a letter in response a few days later, via modern postal services. Unfortunately, he doesn't have mockingbirds at his beck and call.
His handwriting is a somewhat messier cursive - he takes care to make it ledgible - and the letter is carefully folded and tied with a dark blue ribbon instead of sealed with wax.]
Ambassador,
Much belated congratulations are in order for your winning the election. I apologize for not doing so sooner. You are well-suited for it, and if your current project is any indication, you will improve the lives of both imPorts and Natives.
I will gladly donate for your cause. The modern method is, of course, to write a check. Who should it be made out to and where should it be delivered?
I am also quite willing to donate my time via reading to younglings. You are correct that I have an excellent tolerance for them, and truthfully, I would like to create a program very much like this one for my own nation if fate is willing to allow memory of this world upon leaving one day. My grandchildren would be delighted, as would all draconian younglings.
I wish you luck in your endeavors.
Respectfully, Lord-Governor Kang
P.S.: When would you like to meet? SELF is always looking for new suggestions and partnerships.
You were an invaluable help in all things leading up to the ceremony, and we couldn't have had the ceremony without you. Thank you very much for stepping up to fulfill that role. Your gifts will be put to excellent use in our library. The intricate carvings will certainly stand out beautifully as we stack new volumes onto it.

Tips on coping with size issues and possibly modifying residences designed for humans to accommodate larger nonhumans? Kinda got an issue that’s not fixing itself here
You're receiving this because I'm about to do something fairly reckless.
As you're aware, Newton is still possessed. In the absence of having much in way of options, I've decided to go ahead with attempting to mind-meld with him in an effort to usurp the Precursor's control over him. Unfortunately, this comes with its own risks and I may be corrupted or worse as a result. I'd advise that you don't trust me implicitly after you receive this message, even if I appear or claim to be all right. If we begin to act suspiciously, I believe a telepath may have the most luck in driving out the Precursor's influence.
With a bit of luck, none of this will have been necessary and I apologize in advance for causing any undue stress. I've sent a similar message to Jacob Taylor as well.
[As per tradition there is some nice expensive alcohol for Kang as well as a box that contains a shortsword. It's nothing fancy, just something functional if he ever needs it.]
Surprisingly well, though saying so has probably ruined it. I may not be popular enough for the doppelgangers to bother, or they remember what I did to the last clone I had running around. How about you, Miss Jane?

Kenzi was ported out a week ago. I thought maybe it was temporary, but... it's been long enough now.

I'm aware that nothing I say or do will convince you to stop this foolishness, so all that's left to say is good luck.
